Burton E. Silver, M.D.
Dr. Silver, the founder of Deerfield Dermatology Associates, Ltd. attended Roosevelt College, University of Illinois Urbana, University of Illinois Navy Pier Chicago receiving a Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. Silver graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1963. He received the 1963 Merck Award at the time of graduation for outstanding scholar. Dr. Silver completed an internship at Brooke General Army Hospital in 1964. Serving as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corp in Vietnam (1965 and 1966), he returned after three years of service in the military and then completed a Dermatology Residency at the University of Illinois Chicago.
Dr. Silver became board certified, and opened his private practice in 1969, and quickly became a leading dermatologist on Chicago's North Shore. Throughout the years, Dr. Silver expanded his practice to Deerfield Dermatology Associates, Ltd. He is a member of the Chicago Dermatologic Society, the Lake County Medical Society and the Illinois State Medical Society. He serves as an attending physician and maintains professional staff privileges at the NorthShore University HealthSystem including Highland Park, Glenbrook and Evanston Hospitals.
Dr. Silver and his wife had four children and have eight grandchildren. Over the many years in practice, Dr. Silver has enjoyed caring for families in the community taking care of patients, their children and grandchildren.
Marcia E. Johnson, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Marcia E. Johnson, the president of
Deerfield Dermatology Associates, Ltd., is a board certified
dermatologist.She practices general
adult and pediatric dermatology with a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment
of skin cancer.Dr. Johnson graduated
with honors from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia with a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Biology.She received
her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she
held a Ford Foundation Graduate Fellowship and received the Samuel J. Mitchell
Award for Outstanding Graduate Student Research in Cellular and Molecular
Biology.She was also granted the Association
for Women in Science Pre-doctoral Research Award.She completed post-doctoral studies at the
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where she held a National
Institutes of Health Post-doctoral Fellowship.She received her Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University School
of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.While
attending Wayne State, she also served on the research staff at the Michigan
Cancer Foundation. She completed her medical internship at the Detroit Medical
Center and her dermatology residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago.
Dr. Johnson is a member of the American
Academy of Dermatology, The Chicago Dermatological Society, and The Lake County
Medical Society.She has staff
privileges at the NorthShore University Health System including Highland Park,
Glenbrook, and Evanston Hospitals.Dr.
Johnson was in private practice in Oak Brook and in Naperville, Illinois before
joining Deerfield Dermatology Associates, Ltd.
Dr. Johnson is a theater enthusiast.She volunteers with local civic organizations
to promote literacy among young children and enjoys her warm relationship with
her son who is beginning his career in investment banking.
Jonathan A. Dalton
Dr. Dalton is a board certified dermatologist and has been in private practice with Deerfield Dermatology Associates, Ltd. since 2001. He is interested in general adult and pediatric dermatology including disorders of the skin, hair and nails with a special emphasis on skin cancer and cutaneous surgery. He is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Chicago Dermatological Society. He serves as an attending physician and maintains professional staff privileges at the NorthShore University HealthSystem including Highland Park, Glenbrook and Evanston Hospitals.
Dr. Dalton was raised in Ames, Iowa and attended Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota (1989-1993) where he received a double major in Chemistry and Biological Sciences. He received the Merck Award in Chemistry in 1993 and graduated with Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude honors. He received his M.D. degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida (1993-1997) and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. He was awarded the Carol M. Petrucelli, MD Memorial outstanding student award from the USF Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery and received the McGraw-Hill Merit Award from the USF College of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine internship at Northwestern University Evanston Hospital, Evanston, Illinois (1997-1998) and dermatology residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois (1998-2001), serving as Chief Resident from 2000-2001.
In his spare time, he enjoys long-distance running (marathon and ultra-marathons), golf, fishing, cooking and spending time with his wife and family.
Divya Singh-Behl, M.D.
Dr. Singh-Behl is a board certified
dermatologist and a fellowship trained Mohs micrographic surgeon.She was accepted into a competitive combined
six-year BS/MD program while still in high school.This allowed her to finish her undergraduate
work in 2 years with a double major in biology and chemistry.She received her MD degree at the age of 24
from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine.
She completed her internship in internal
medicine and dermatology residency at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic.She served as the chief resident, vice
president of the House Staff Association and other committees that impacted
resident issues.Dr. Singh-Behl was an
associate staff at the Cleveland Clinic for 4 years before deciding to pursue a
one year fellowship in Mohs micrographic and laser surgery.
In 2007, Dr. Singh-Behl joined Deerfield
Dermatology Associates, Ltd. and serves as the Mohs micrographic surgeon for
the practice.Additionally, her
expertise is in the early detection of skin cancer and skin examinations,
surgical removal of benign and malignant lesions.Her surgical expertise makes her natural in
injecting dermal fillers and Botox.Other cosmetic interests include chemical peels and laser surgery of
facial and leg veins.
She currently serves as the specialty
director on the Alumni Board at the Cleveland Clinic.She is an active member of the American
Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, and American Society
for Dermatologic Surgery.Dr. Singh-Behl
has staff privileges at the Northshore University Health System hospital group.
Madhuri V. Konanahalli, M.D.
Dr. Madhuri Konanahalli is a board certified dermatologist who graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with Phi Beta Kappa honors in 1999 and the University of Illinois College of Medicine is 2003. While in medical school, she was awarded the American Academy of Dermatology Minority medical student grant, the Dr. C.M. Craig student summer research fellowship and the Adolf A. Rosetenberg Jr. Award in dermatology. Following her graduation in 2003, she completed an Internal Medicine internship and then started her dermatology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Following graduation, she worked at the Hammond Clinic in Northwest Indiana prior to joining Deerfield Dermatology. Dr. Konanahalli is a member of the Lake County Medical Society, the Illinois State Medical Society and is affiliated with the NorthShore University Health Systems.
Dr. Konanahalli enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, reading, cooking and exploring Chicago in her spare time.
Jan Wozny, R.N., Licensed Esthetician
Janice Wozny is a Registered Nurse as well as a Licensed Esthetician who has specialized in the field of Aesthetic Dermatology, and is a member of the Dermatology Nurses Association.
An injection specialist in the use of Restylane, Perlane and Juvederm for the softening of fine lines and lip augmentation, Janice is also extensively trained in Botox, chemical peels, laser facial rejuvenation, laser hair removal and laser vein treatments for the face and legs.
