Dr. Silver, the founder of Deerfield Dermatology Associates, Ltd.
attended Roosevelt College, University of Illinois Urbana, University
of Illinois Navy Pier Chicago receiving a Bachelor of Science degree.
Dr. Silver graduated from the University of Illinois College of
Medicine in 1963. He received the 1963 Merck Award at the time of
graduation for outstanding scholarship. Dr. Silver completed an
internship at Brooke General Army Hospital in 1964. Serving as a
Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corp in Vietnam (1965 and 1966), he
returned after three years of service in the military and then
completed a Dermatology Residency at the University of Illinois Chicago.
Dr.
Silver became board certified, and opened his private practice in 1969,
and quickly became a leading dermatologist on Chicago's North Shore.
Throughout the years, Dr. Silver expanded his practice to Deerfield
Dermatology Associates, Ltd. He is a member of the Chicago Dermatologic
Society, the Lake County Medical Society and the Illinois State Medical
Society. He serves as an attending physician and maintains professional
staff privileges at the NorthShore University HealthSystem including
Highland Park, Glenbrook and Evanston Hospitals.
Dr. Silver and
his wife had four children and have eight grandchildren. Over the many
years in practice, Dr. Silver has enjoyed caring for families in the
community taking care of patients, their children and grandchildren.
